Nucleon scattering with higgsino and wino cold dark matter

چکیده
Neutralinos that are mostly wino or higgsino are shown to be compatible with the recent DAMA annual modulation signal. The nucleon scattering rates for these dark matter candidates are typically an order of magnitude above the oft-considered bino. Although thermal evolution of higgsino and wino number densities in the early universe implies that they are not viable dark matter candidates, non-thermal sources, such as from gravitino or moduli decay in anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking, suggest that they can be the dominant source of cold dark matter. Their stealthiness at high energy colliders gives even more impetus to analyze nucleon scattering detection methods. We also present calculations for their predicted scattering rate with germanium detectors, which have yet to see evidence of WIMP scattering. hep-ph/0011082 November 2000

Direct Detection of the Wino- and Higgsino-like Neutralino Dark Matters at One-Loop Level
The neutralino-nucleon (χ̃0-N) scattering is an important process for direct dark matter searches. The tree-level neutralino-nucleon scattering mediated by one Higgs or Z boson exchange is suppressed in a pure gaugino or Higgsino limit. The oneloop corrections to the scattering cross section may not be neglected when the tree-level cross section is as close as the proposed sensitivities of the f...
متن کامل- 06 Target dark matter detection rates in models with a well - tempered neutralino
In the post-LEP2 era, and in light of recent measurements of the cosmic abundance of cold dark matter (CDM) in the universe from WMAP, many supersymmetric models tend to predict 1. an overabundance of CDM and 2. pessimistically low rates for direct detection of neutralino dark matter. However, in models with a " well-tempered neutralino " , where the neutralino composition is adjusted to give t...
متن کاملHiggsino and Wino Dark Matter from Q-ball Decay
We claim that the Higgsino-like and wino-like neutralinos can be good dark matter candidates if they are produced by the late time decay of Q-ball. The late time decays of the Q-balls into these LSP’s and subsequent pair annihilations of the LSP’s naturally lead to the desired mass density of dark matter. Furthermore, these dark matter can be much more easily detected by the dark-matter search ...
متن کاملProspects and Blind Spots for Neutralino Dark Matter
Using a simplified model framework, we assess observational limits and discovery prospects for neutralino dark matter, taken here to be a general admixture of bino, wino, and Higgsino. Experimental constraints can be weakened or even nullified in regions of parameter space near 1) purity limits, where the dark matter is mostly bino, wino, or Higgsino, or 2) blind spots, where the relevant coupl...

We claim that the Higgsino-like and wino-like neutralinos can be good dark matter candidates if they are produced by the late time decay of Q-ball, which is generally formed in Affleck-Dine baryogenesis. The late time decays of the Qballs into these LSP’s and subsequent pair annihilations of the LSP’s naturally lead to the desired mass density of dark matter. Furthermore, these dark matter can ...
